I made "Brown Skin Ain't a Crime" because I am sick of watching Hispanic people get treated like criminals by racist laws, DHS propaganda, and a government that keeps feeding fear like it is truth. I am Mexican. This is personal. I wrote this from anger, from pain, and from the hard fact that brown skin has never been a crime, no matter how badly this country wants to act like it is.
I mixed grunge, mariachi, punk, and rock because that sound fits the wound. The noise, the pressure, the distortion, the pride, all of it belongs there. The mariachi is my blood. The rage is real. This song is for my people, for our families, and for everyone forced to live under stupid, cruel policies made by people who have no idea what their damage feels like.
Brown skin ain't a crime. Not now. Not ever.more
