Greek Brothers was the name given to us by locals in the north London neighbourhood where we grew up, which we never shook off. Working after school in the kitchen of our family-run Greek restaurant, we'd close up each night and perform to the last guests that were hanging out after hours. The audience back then was varied, and each table of people had a different set of musical tastes. As a result our sets would often end up as a surreal mix of old rock & roll, cult Greek folk, and the British chart hits of the day. Requests for Hotel California would sit between calls for songs from Asia Minor and Mambo No. 5. We played the pub scene in the UK in the years since closing the restaurant as our parents retired and we went to study, and later ran a Greek folk band playing in across England and Germany. Now in 2022 we're releasing original music for the first time, a blend of pop/rock and Greek folk music. Our first single "Sotomayor" will be available on Spotify on August 12th.
