Ian F Ball is an accomplished guitarist, melodeon player, singer and actor based in Oldham near Manchester in the UK. His music is played far and wide, from the USA to Hungary, at the very least, and has been recorded by bands and musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.
During lockdown he picked up his pen and started to concentrate more on his writing after discovering the online songwriters group Talent is Timeless. His repertoire includes new dance tunes, traditional folk and new original compositions.
It didn't take long before an outlet was needed for his music and so here we are.

I wrote this a few years ago but never got on with it. Last year I added a middle 8 and tuned the guitar down a semitone and, I think, it's quite good.
Being a Brit I'll let you tell me whether it fits the country genre or not and it's a rough straight to desk warts and all demo. Is it worth doing a better version? Would you want to hear this at an open mic event? Thanks for listeningmore

Here's a new folk song I wrote a few months ago. I recorded it live as a bit of a try out/rough mix using a DI box and Rode NT1 into a Tascam DP24.
Boy loves girl, wicked father sends girl away to America, boy follows and searches for girl, boy finds girl and marries her. All in 2'42"!
