Women with Poetry in Their Soul
Women with Poetry in Their Soul: To the mothers, wives, and daughters who endure violence, may this be a voice for their pain and a solace to their hearts.
---------------------------------------------------------
Troubles begin the day they are born,
The balm of love, women with ruby-red lips.
Though some may see them as things to scorn,
They are mothers, wives, and sisters, not to be dismissed.
---------------------------------------------------------
Violence doesn’t come from strangers on the outside,
It’s from loved ones, from partners, from fathers, worldwide.
What do you seek, cruel monster, from her soul?
When from the start, her heart was all she ever gave.
---------------------------------------------------------
Each of them burdened, each a poem in form,
Eyes moist, hearts trembling, hands weathered and worn.
Carrying woes and struggles but filled with love untold,
There’s none like the women with poetry in their soul.
