Girl in Town was created after listening to many songs by Spence Hood, heavily influenced by his track 'So You Wanna Marry Daisy?' The theme is about a girl who, on the outside, is perfect, but inside has the power to ruin your week. The track uses classic elements that are characteristic to the big band "broadway musical number" such as double bass, jazz brushes, and backing gang vocals.
