Defying templates and genres to turn lived experiences into music that stops you in your tracks. Music should either start a conversation or stop you in your tracks—Kathy Newman manages to do both. Operating as a fiercely authentic independent voice, her catalog is built entirely on the foundation of lived experience. Because she refuses to write to a template, her genre-defying sound consistently breaks out of traditional boxes to forge its own path.
