Sasha Vladimir “shamellow” Barrat was born and raised in the small town of Evian, in France, at the corner of Switzerland and Italy. In his twenties, he laid his hands on a bass guitar, and discovered a growing passion for making music and experimenting with the manipulation of sound, a passion that was entangled with his recent immigration to Canada. The works of many artists marked him, like John Frusciante, Joe Hisaishi, Cliff Eidelman, Dr. Dre, Tech n9ne, Eminem, NF, Andrew Huang, Coheed and Cambria and Rise Against just to name a few. Inspired by all forms of music, especially electronic, rap and hip-hop, cinematic and orchestral, his style is weird and going in all kinds of directions. He released his first track “Maze Anomaly” in 2022, a song created for the Canadian dancer Melmaze and is currently working on the full soundtrack for her future show “Bordelique”. He’s now focusing on creating soundtracks made for dancers, flowing between ambient, cinematic and hip-hop rhythms.
