This is a song I wrote about alcoholism affecting the dreams you have for your life. Lyrics You cry for the success of someone else But I wish you would pull your dreams down from that shelf Instead of watching them on the screen Yours could be the ones that we see I’ve watched the years pass on by You lose a little more every time So wont you please Dust em off, try them on for me Like a pair of your ragged old jeans I bet they fit just perfectly So take one down, Pass it around See where it goes Instead of reaching for the bottle On your tippy toes I wonder if you have got 99 dreams Maybe you could take one down For Me Im begging now on my knees Don’t reach for the bottle reach for the dream You put em up extremely high So you don’t have to see them every time you walk by They weren’t meant for collecting all the dust Clean one off, shine it up. Darling you must Before your so damn drunk that you stumble and fall Or you miss your step and accidentally break them all So wont you please Dust em off, try them on for me Like a pair of your ragged old jeans I bet they fit just perfectly So take one down, Pass it around See where it goes Instead of reaching for the bottle On your tippy toes I wonder if you have got 99 dreams Maybe you could take one down For Me Im begging now on my knees Don’t reach for the bottle reach for the dream 99 bottles of beer on the wall I bet you could finish them all But all I see is 99 dreams Floating down the alcohol streams Don’t reach for the bottle Reach for the dream more
