I See You in My Dreams Again
This is a piece I wrote for my brother, the youngest of us three, who passed away at 39. Since he left, I started writing music as a kind of therapy, and it helps... a little. Since then, I haven't stopped.

I see you in my dreams again,
When my heart drifts between two planes.
Always with a bottle in your hand,
At the bar or on the couch, you’d stand.
You’d laugh like a fool, so loud and clear,
Wine after whiskey, without fear.
You never knew how to set a line,
Only bruises, scars, and borrowed time.
Why didn’t you just ask for aid?
To reach for help is not to fade.
Now that you're gone, I swear it’s true—
I’d shake the pain right out of you.
I see you in my dreams each night,
When my heart floats between dark and light.
Always sitting on your bike,
You and your brother—two souls alike.
Was it me who failed to hear,
Or you who kept it all unclear?
One thing’s certain, through the pain:
You left me bleeding in the rain.
A hurt so deep, it claws inside,
Too raw for words, too much to hide.
You tore a piece right out of me,
Now breath escapes me endlessly.
Still, I’ll search in every dream,
When my heart’s caught in between.
And if I ever pull you near,
I swear I’ll hold you—keep you here.
I see you in my dreams again,
When my heart drifts between two planes.
Always sitting on your bike,
You and your brother—one soul alike.more
