“Before The Knock” is one of Xilence’s most personal and emotionally vulnerable records, inspired by a real night that permanently changed the way he viewed trust, trauma, and the people and systems around him. Built around vivid storytelling, the song captures the moments before, during, and after a life-altering event, exploring themes of emotional isolation, fear, misunderstanding, and survival. Rather than presenting a simple narrative, Xilence reflects on how private pain can quickly become public, and how living through an experience is often far different than watching it unfold from the outside. Throughout the record, he questions what help truly looks like, examines the lasting effects of trauma, and confronts the disconnect between intention and impact. The song doesn’t seek to provide easy answers instead, it documents one of the darkest moments of his life with honesty and introspection. The title, “Before The Knock,” represents the final quiet moments before everything changed. It serves as a reminder that a single moment can alter a person’s life forever, while also challenging listeners to consider the unseen struggles people may be carrying long before anyone notices.more
