Wirira
Between April and July 1994, more than one million of Rwandan Tutsi were brutally killed in the space of 100 days. The dark page of the genocide was punctuated by mothers losing their children. A woman lost six of them. Torn by grief, her faith keeps her alive. "Wirira" means "don't cry" in Rwandan language. It's a whisper in a barren desert, a drop in an ocean of sorrow. A man's voice echoing a moving command: "Weep not... I say to you, arise". Dedicated to Thérésie, mother of those who live.more
