HALOS DOWN, HURRICANES UP Somewhere between watching the world argue w/ itself, everybody becoming an overnight political expert, & social media turning outrage into an Olympic sport, this song happened. I wrote Halos Down, Hurricanes Up because I’m tired of watching ppl get divided, manipulated, & spoon-fed what to think. Everybody’s picking sides, throwing stones, & fighting over headlines while the bigger picture gets lost somewhere in the comment section. This isn’t about left or right. It’s about waking up, thinking for urself, & remembering there’s still a world outside ur phone. As for why I’ve been relatively quiet w/ the music lately? Let’s just say retirement hasn’t exactly turned into sitting on a porch playing guitar & feeding squirrels. I’ve still been tied up with government work, which apparently didn’t get the memo that I retired from the Navy. 😂 Between that, writing, producing, & everything else life throws into the cockpit, social media took a backseat. But don’t mistake silence for inactivity. I’ve been working behind the scenes, making noise where it counts, & occasionally reminding myself that guitars don’t play themselves. This one’s a little sarcastic, a little rebellious, & unapologetically loud. No political uniform, no marching orders, & absolutely no participation trophy for arguing on the internet. Halos down.
