This is a cover of a Gujarati song written by Tushar Shukla, one of my favorite poets — with an equally beautiful arrangement from Shyamal and Saumil Munshi to go along with it.
Tari Hatheli Ne, for me, has always been about how we tend to be our own worst enemies — how sometimes, all the love and validation in the world can’t stop us from feeling empty and useless, all because we set ourselves up for disappointment. But it also serves as a stark reminder that fate is crafted by someone bigger than us. It’s not my place to try and identify who that higher being may be — we all refer to that higher power by different names. I just know that it’s real — and this cover is intended as an ode to that belief.more
