The lyrics for Every Feather were inspired by the story of a young man who fought to stay alive long enough to witness his son's 13th birthday. I found his determination to reach this specific milestone—despite his terminal cancer—to be both incredibly brave and moving. This sentiment serves as the emotional foundation for the song's exploration of love, loss, and the desire to remain a part of a loved one’s future. Despite the gravity of the topic, I wanted it to be uplifting - the lyrics promise that the loved one is never truly gone, pledging to be present "in every prayer / and every feather that you find" Instead of dwelling only on loss, the song empowers the loved one to "paint your book of life" and "fill every empty page" It encourages them to embrace their future, knowing that the past bond supports their growth and that love transcends the physical end of a story. please follow on spotify for more more
