I wrote ‘The Garrison’ in my freshman year of college about taking the train to upstate New York and rediscovering my sense of self through the smells and tastes and vast expanses of space that make up who I am, solace from an acute and autumnal heartache. The recording is a point of pride for me; entirely on tape in an uncut vocal/guitar take, it was recorded and produced by Mike Viola at his studio Barebones, in Los Angeles, California. This is my first single release as a solo artist and it’s out in a week. If you dig it, please pre-save!more
