Sakura's ascension to heaven
This is one of my most recent compositions. The tension arises from the anguish of knowing we live in a world where history teaches nothing and humanity refuses to learn.
'Sakura' is ideally a young girl from Hiroshima. Her 'ascension to heaven' has nothing to do with spiritual matters, but with the vaporization caused by a nuclear explosion. To speak so carelessly today about the possible use of nuclear weapons is to betray those who lost their lives so that we might learn what is, in no way, tolerable.
In a world of stale thoughts and historical amnesia, this track is my way of breathing fresh air—even if it's the cold air of a memory that burns.more
