"Step Back From The Dark" is an alternative rock anthem inspired by the raw emotionality of 1990s legends like Collective Soul. It serves as both a memorial and a call to action. The song navigates the heavy landscape of grief and the "crush" of loss, symbolized by the 1,296 headstones, but ultimately pivots toward radical empathy and hope. It is designed to be the "hand on the shoulder" for anyone standing on the edge, urging them to take one step back into the light.
