Initially started as a tongue-in-cheek and painfully prosaic emo project to off-load past relationship woes, Awe Man began as half confession, half self-aware melodrama. But the music slowly blurred and manifested into current life. Behind the project, Jorge Fox-Ibarra began writing songs that traced the messy timeline of loving again—hope after heartbreak, awkward courage, and unexpected wonder. With a sound that harkens back to ’90s pop rock and emo, Awe Man blends sincerity and irony into songs that live somewhere between overthinking, paranoia and genuine awe.
