Everydayisbetterwhenisnotbetter
“Everydayisbetterwhenisnotbetter” is an alternative pop, ambient pop, and experimental song about someone who has become accustomed to making mistakes and not improving, someone obsessed with everything and who feels that if anything were to change, everything would collapse. Simple things like questions, starting with the obsession itself, are described as a “fun” yet “monotonous” memory, which is cut short. Then, he questions, with poor grammar, whether he functions based on wanting this person who’s been on his mind for days. They then reproaches themselve, saying, “You said life was perfect too.” Then, in the bridge, the breaks the monotony, revealing that if they cycle of monotony were to end, they would be afraid that something might improve, afraid of so many questions, afraid of what he feels. That’s why the outro is the bridge played in reverse, to show that they regretted it and wants to return to their monotonous life. Repeating the song will bring back everything without resolution.
Here are some words from Evie Liez:
"After releasing my debut, “Eyes Like Ice,” I was able to truly commit to taking things more seriously and creating something different for my second single.
Seeing that I could reach so many people filled my heart and helped clear away some of my procrastination.
Thank you, and I hope you enjoy “Everydayisbetterwhenisnotbetter.”more
