DKbytheway, formally known as Devin Keyante Nelson, was born in West Columbia, South Carolina in 1995. He grew up in a small town in Lexington County named Batesburg-Leesville right outside of the city. Growing up, he used to sing in his church choir with his aunt and cousins as choir directors. Since he was a kid, he has always loved music and was passionate about it. In late 2020, DKbytheway finally decided to act upon this dream of becoming an artist. One day, he just opened his phone notepad, started writing and soon after, rapping came effortlessly. He enters the ranks among many other talented LGBTQ+ artist with hopes of broadening the current horizons of the music industry.
