Navajo Nation (Diné) Hip Hop artist 'Def-i' continues to carve out an original niche from introspective and poetic Hip-Hop. Hailing from Albuquerque, NM and emerging from the underground indy rap circuit, Def-i’s eclectic repertoire has provided him with much success and opportunity; MC, Producer, Artist-Educator – Def-i has been featured on Sway in the Morning, NPR, BBC, New York Times, The Guardian, PBS and more. His performance styles range wide from Hip-Hop and spoken word to contemporary native-american acoustic. Rounding out this diverse musical powerhouse, Def-i is an experienced youth workshop provider, active community member and currently serves as a US cultural Hip Hop Ambassador. For the past decade he has worked with educational entities from all levels, teaching creative writing, song recording, the art of beat making and the fundamentals of Hip-Hop culture earning the respect of music industry professionals, peers and younger generations.
