Often classified as indie or alternative rock, the music of the four musicians from Dresden and Freital is characterized by dreaminess and melancholy, which is not least due to the excessive use of reverberation and echo. The band got it's unusual name since it was founded in 2013, but the meaning is left open. Degerwald's texts deal with circumstances that young people are often exposed to, such as interpersonal conflicts, fears of all kinds or everyday banalities. According to their own statement, the goal is to encourage the listener not to give up when faced with difficulties and not to feel left alone with a situation.
