Born in the heat of Papua New Guinea, growing up in the temperate American midwest & now residing in subtropical New Zealand, dreampop songwriter RANDY FREEMAN knows about singing through the seasons of life. Music from gospel to Garth Brooks was always around the Freeman home, but it was the likes of Coldplay and U2 which inspired Randy to pick up the guitar. Writing his first song at age 12, he’d continue to write and play with family, friends and worship teams over the years.
Moving cities and countries, he’d chase down his signature sound: blending dreamy pop with folk lyricism, twinkling guitars, R&B beats and strong melodies.
Infused with the joy of gospel, an infectious afro beat groove and heartfelt lyrics about making it through hard times, his debut single “OH SAY NAH (RUBY)” bounces through your headphones and into your heart. It’s a bold start and a sign of what’s to come from this promising songwriter, who sounds like he’s just getting started.
