Jonah Solomon Heist Jurick (born May 30, 2000), otherwise know as Hei$t, began his artistic journey by attending the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festival every year since before turning 1. Gaining influence from his father who played live music as a drummer his whole life, Hei$t began writing songs at the age of 12, and began taking vocal lessons at 13. Once the era of SoundCloud picked up steam, Hei$t immersed himself into his own style of smooth melodic rap and alternative pop music, taking influence from artists like Kid Cudi, Future, Leon Bridges, and Mac Miller. He was only 17 when he released his first song, “Got It All” featuring Journey Gz. Next came a breakout song at the time called “Phases”, where Hei$t meticulously speaks about Benjamins, the hundred dollar bill, and how in a dream he heard them calling asking to be let into his home. When Hei$t moved to Philadelphia at 18 to attend the University of Pennsylvania, he dropped fan favorites “Romeo” and “Sweet Susie”. Ro
