Ian Alex is no novice to music. He's been grinding and cultivating his craft since a child. As he was growing up his father who was a skilled saxophone player would play music in the house of all genres. His father would take him two gigs from time to time to watch him play. Ian also hung around his father as he rehearsed with the band.This environment of music help to spark the drive in Ian to pursue music. Knowing early what his dreams were he decided he wanted to go to high school to learn music. So in ninth grade he went to Truman high school in the Bronx. At the time he joined the music choir at the school and became a little celebrity in the school. He also picked up battle rapping in the cafeteria which helped with the writing of songs later on. Feeling like he was a fish out of water Ian decided to audition for a performing arts school and the school he chose was the Boys Choir of Harlem.
