Jason Sivert is a recent graduate from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he received his MM in Music Performance. He also has a BM in Music Technology and Music Performance from West Liberty University in West Liberty, West Virginia. He was involved in several music ensembles, which included: percussion ensemble, steel band, African drum and dance ensemble, symphony orchestra, and marching band. He has also been involved with electronic music ensemble and jazz ensemble. Sivert is a percussionist who is proficient on all the core percussion instruments, as well as steel pan, African drumming, Latin percussion, and North Indian tabla drumming. His primary instructors have included: Dr. Brian Baldauff, Dr. Mitchell Greco, Dr. Matthew Harder, Dr. Rob Falvo, and Dr. Diana Loomer. Aside from playing and teaching percussion, Sivert’s skill set also includes composing original music, writing arrangements for music ensembles, as well as recording concerts.
