Formed in the summer of 2018, Involute began as a weekly jam session between Julian Chipkin and dynamic brothers duo Eli and Wyatt Mehmeti. Inspired by various progressive rock & metal bands, the trio began writing a concept album, an endeavor that lasted the better part of three years. Along the way, they inducted a second guitarist, Tom McCausland, whose sense of melody complemented Involute's already rhythmically complex sound. Before the conclusion of the writing sessions, the band completed their lineup with vocalist Carina Kohn, who joined in the fall of 2020.
Involute's first LP is a science-fiction concept album that explores various themes such as grief and perception in the technological age. The album is due to be released in 2021.
