Kajang

Kashmir Stone is one of Malaysia’s pioneering Tamil rock bands, emerging from the local music scene in the late 1990s and becoming known for their powerful blend of Tamil rock, heavy metal influences, melodic rock and Malaysian cultural identity. Founded by Brahma, the band was formed in Kajang and built its reputation through an uncompromising sound that brought Tamil-language music into the Malaysian rock landscape. The name Kashmir Stone was inspired by the members’ fascination with the word “Kashmir” and their admiration for the legendary Rolling Stones. The band’s early work established them as an important force in Malaysia’s Tamil rock movement. Their music combined hard-driving guitars and rock arrangements with Tamil melodies and socially and culturally relevant lyrics. Kashmir Stone is Malaysia’s pioneering Tamil rock band.
