Joe Betz (Knuckled Fruit) earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is an Associate Professor of English, a dad, a poet, and an average basketball player. After listening to electronic music for years while reading and writing, he began producing music that blends lo-fi, synth, and ambient elements to create chill yet energetic vibes inspired by artists such as Hiroshi Yoshimura, Tennyson, J Dilla, and Venetian Snares . Work will be featured in a vinyl compilation with Vinyl Moon and in a limited cassette run with Secret Lovers Records in 2021. An EP with DIKENA (UK) will release in 2021, also, along with work on a compilation with OIM Records (Oakland, CA).
