Born and raised in Ypsilanti,MI. MJtheArtist had a life fully of musical influence. Weather it was his mom singing in the church choir, both of his biological grandfathers being musicians or even having his Grandmother remarry a man who had a full studio in his Detroit basement. Music has always been prominent in MJ's life. Growing up as and introvert and the shy kid for most of his life,MJ took a deep dive into his musical taste at an early age. Any time you'd come across him, he'd have his headphones in or was just singing to him self. Once high school hitch then began writing his own poems which then eventually led him to begin putting some of those words to music. It's wasn't until his early 20's that he began to start professionally recording, with the help of friends and fellow artists from the surrounding neighborhoods. Sounds mixed with RnB and hip hop, and Pop; MJtheArtist's music quickly tunes the listener in and connects them to the stories being told in his music.
