The Book of Truth
This is a song about faith over dogma. All gospels will degrade over time, but God is eternal. more

Can't Put My Finger On It
I wrote this song while deep in the confusion of an unhappy relationship and trying to process my life and figure out what to do with myself. It's a song of sleep deprivation, desperation, and longing for something you can't have. The base tracks of drums and guitar were recorded in 2014 with drummer Daniel Dillard in his basement, with a raunchy post-punk riff, and then I overdubbed layers of simmering ebowed electric guitar, providing a boiling tension. lyrics You flicker flicker til my dry eyes weep I'm getting sicker but I just can't sleep We've got to meet somewhere halfway between But half of me don't even know what I mean But I can't put my finger on it No I can't put my finger on it No I can't put my finger on it No I can't put my finger on it No, no, no I changed my wardrobe Now some things should change I'm drinking sencha But it still feels strange If I could step outside my body to see I think I might know what it means to be free credits released August 23, 2022 Michael Droske: Vocals, Guitars, ebow Guitar, Bass guitar Daniel Dillard: Drums David Hrivnak: Mixing and Masteringmore

Look Out, I'm Open Now
"Look Out, I'm Open Now" was recorded at my apartment on Alki Beach, Seattle, WA. This song was written after Tom Petty died, and I like to think it sounds like him smiling down from heaven. I recorded myself playing tuned wine glasses in harmony, and gave it many layers of shimmering harmony vocals, including some polyphonic throat singing by Stephen Saletta. lyrics Look out, I’m open now, I’m open now, I’m open now Look out, the tree fell down we’ll have to go the long way round You get a scratch upon your cheek broken branches trip your feet and perfumed shadows fall eventually for us all vignettes of demon’s claws or angel’s wings of thee I sing And all the contents of our dreams Will be set freemore
