Taking heed of the lessons and warnings of the likes of Dizzy Wright, Kendrick Lamar, SwizZz, King Iso, Tech N9ne, Eminem, and J Cole, Rayn has made importance of lyrics through personal storytelling. Self-taught as both a rapper and producer, they have put the work in to learn how and why music becomes great from the bottom up. Rayn places an emphasis on larger, conceptual works of art in the form of albums intended to be heard from start to finish rather than on individual songs, and often uses clever allegory and personal experience to draw into a larger idea. Their unique production style often lends itself to be an eerier, creepy vibe, feeling almost supernatural while simultaneously being composed in a comforting manner, such as on tracks like Sleepless, Seasick, and Bipolar. After a rocky first set of releases, Rayn has really stepped up their overall quality of music on every level for both the tragic first half of the Titanic series of albums and the singles surrounding it.
