Nareiq Ansel Millette aka Ruga Reiq was born on April 16 1996 in Queens, NY. As an infant and a child his mother Dina Smith ( Strawberry) had him around music and the music industry. As she worked with and was acquainted with many known Artists such as LL Cool J. Music has always played a role in his life. He recorded his first track at 14 on a mic and a dell computer. Since then he has recorded hundreds of tracks. His hard energetic vibe which you can hear in some of his tracks comes from his rough background growing up in the Hoods of Queens. All through his teenage years him and his mother bounced around from home to home hood to hood but never leaving Queens. Although he lived with his mother in Southside Jamaica, Queens he spent sometime and went to school in the Laurelton Queens area where his grandmother lived. There is where you can say Ruga Reiq was invented. At the age of 16 he had his first child Layla. Another inspiration for him to strive harder with his dream and his goal
