Austin, TX, USA

Shelby Specter is a genre-bending artist from Texas, blending '70s metal, '80s new wave, and '90s alt-punk into a sound both savage and soulful. Her voice—somewhere between Elvis Presley’s velvet and Chris Cornell’s flame—defies expectation. First rising during the COVID lockdown, she later fronted Digger of Dirt, a fierce DIY band known for relentless shows and a month-long tour. Now solo again, she returns with Aether, a debut album full of grit, grief, and ghostlight. Onstage, Shelby pairs occult glamour with punk fury, turning every performance into a ritual. Audiences may judge the boots, the eyeliner, the smirk, but her songs peel back every illusion. She writes for the wild ones, sings for the forgotten, and fights for love, justice, and misfit kin.
