Growing up my dad had a basement recording studio with a Tascam 388, 8-track reel-to-reel mixing desk which recorded directly to tape. The 90's were a strange time, I started playing drums in that studio at 4 years old, eventually getting a family iMac in 2004 which had Garageband 2 - then eventually Garageband 3... then graduating highschool I got my own Macbook with Garageband 9, and that's where I really took off, or so I thought. Going as far as I could self-taught; I eventually learned enough to play drums for various small garage bands, the college jazz band issued credit vouchers if I became the drummer for their jazz band- getting us to compete in two Reno Jazz Festivals, all of it started my journey into professional sound and mixing. Fast forward to 2017 where I received a certificate from Salt Lake Community College for Music Recording Technology, where I learned how to truly use: a mixing console, understand mic placement, EQs, compressions, and mastering tracks.
