Iris Brooks writes and has co-written with Geoff Allamach, Michael Wayne Dill, Don Johnson, Russell Causey, Susan Jeavons and John Covert). Previously she wrote with the love of her life, the late Tommy Lee Brooks, a talented self-taught musician/entertainer. He opened for Merle Haggard, Miles Davis; toured with Billy Joe Shaver, Big Al Downing. A member of the Ventrills, he also played music with Carl Perkins, Danny Gatton, Bobby Goldsboro, Del Shannon. Iris began songwriting as a little girl, playing piano in her church. Tho' she writes music, she excels in lyrics, having won numerous awards. I Need More Ammunition was nominated for 2023 Josie Awards for Social Impact Video/ Song of the Year for this song supporting Ukraine. Iris loves, God, America and family. Raising 2 talented grandsons alone isn't easy, but they are a blessing. With faith over fear, Iris writes from her heart, boldly in some cases, but always with love.
