With over two decades of professional playing experience, Spencer has traveled internationally as well as up and down the west coast playing at various venues and events. He has performed with concert bands and quartets, combo bands and show bands. He has been a part of Live Play Performances, Jazz Big bands, Alternative Rock Bands, and Blues Bands. The first band he traveled and played consistent shows, was a local band called Whistletoe. He later left that band to study music at University of Nevada, Reno. He later found his way back to California where he played in the Straight-Ahead Big Band, an 18-piece Big Band that was the only big band jazz band of that size from Sacramento to Portland. He played with professional musicians and traveled all over Northern California playing jazz standards from the 1920-1930 Big Band era."It was an experience of a lifetime.
