Originally from Bedfordshire, Alt-pop artist TUUDI, original name Scarlett Ash-Ingley, grew up exploring the countryside and began writing songs on an old untuned piano at the age of 12. “While growing up, I was hideously quiet so making music was about giving myself a voice.” It was then her interest in choreographing contemporary dance which led her into a tunnel of research into a broad range of music. In 2018, she joined a dream-pop band which led to her move to London in 2020 to explore her interest in electronic production and sound engineering. Here she’s spent the last three years perfecting her craft and sound, to bring to her audience immersive storylines, with great vulnerability. With influences from the likes of AURORA, Lorde, BANKS, New Order and Bjork, TUUDI’s music is filled with characteristics which cross the lines of genre boundaries and creates an equally futuristic, and retrospective sound.
