Combining post-punk inspired guitar hooks with new wave, Swedish pop-rock outfit The Class creates music with a touch of nostalgia and modern indie pop gloss. In August 2020, through a mutual friend, lead singer Henning Hallqvist contacted drummer Todd Wästfelt, who introduced him to his roommate, bassist Pelle Burgdorf. The trio’s ranks solidified with the addition of guitarist Carl Hedlund – a few months later, The Class was born. The Class released their debut single RUNNERS on April 30, 2021. The track is characterized by escapism, youthfulness, small-town boredom, big dreams and big synths. Their second single summer nights was released on August 6, 2021. Featuring a catchy guitar riff and a jazzy saxophone solo, it incorporates elements of retro funk, pop and synth-pop with ambient undertones. The Class are currently working on an EP, set to be released in 2022.
