Led by husband and wife Ethan Ames and Erin Thelen, Tish is an indie-pop four-piece from Austin, TX whose music captures the human experience with the clarity of a flashbulb. Shot through with themes of love, grief, alienation and misty contemplation, each song by Tish is a gut-punch that somehow leaves you smiling. Both accomplished songwriters and performers in their own right, Ames and Thelen formed Tish in 2018, fusing Ames’s background in lo-fi, melodic indie-rock with Thelen’s soul-pop stylings. Combined with the rhythm section of drummer AJ Audain and bassist Tyler Rusin, the end result is a powerhouse of idiosyncratic melodies, blistering instrumentation and ethereal harmonies, all ballasted by soaring, memorable hooks. Tish’s debut album, “Burning Up,” comes out November 3rd, 2024.
