I'm thrilled to have you here reading this. I go by the name Francis Pounds, but in the music world, I'm known as Youngblood Happy Meal Lord. Back in 2016, I found myself heavily involved in ghostwriting for rappers. My manager at the time preferred I keep my real identity under wraps. It was during one drive to the airport that the sight of a series of billboards along Interstate 55 caught my attention: Youngblood's RV's, McDonald's, McDonald's, and Cowboy Church. It was a mundane scene I passed by often, but that particular morning, it struck me in a profound way. Those billboards became the unexpected spark for the persona that I still embrace today. To describe my genre, influences and aesthetic I'll use the words of a music critic I adore, he said: "YBHML belongs to a genre called 'Tyler Durden IRL'. It's more than just feedback and ruse, there's disdain for the oligarchy, surveillance capitalism, perpetual bloody noses, horrid mental health and the man literally makes and sell

Basil Ganglia
"Basil Ganglia," a track that intertwines surf rock melodies with a narrative deeply rooted in personal struggle, societal observations, and a provocative dialogue with divinity. At its core, "Basil Ganglia" (3:22) ventures into the tumultuous relationship between faith and the often inexplicable challenges of life. Drawing from my own experiences with trichotillomania—a condition that shaped much of my childhood; the more hair missing or if you saw my eyes without lashes this simply meant the more anxious I was for being a sinner—the song uses a blend of dark humor, candid lyricism, and an upbeat, sing-along surf rock vibe to discuss themes many might find uncomfortable, yet undeniably human. The juxtaposition of the song’s light, harmonious composition in D minor, against the weight of its subject matter—questioning the existence and nature of God amidst personal and global suffering—creates a unique listening experience. It’s a conversation starter, meant to engage listeners in a deeper reflection on the absurdities of life, the quest for meaning, and the beauty of embracing one's flaws. - Mastered by Mixea.commore
