Inspired by Gabrielle Aplin, Bon Iver and Maggie Rogers, Alexander Mountain is a singer/songwriter from East Sussex, who has been writing since adolescence about societal pressure, life and mental health. Aided by his rich timbre and emotive vocals, he narrates the stories he has experienced first-hand through his songwriting. Since releasing his debut single "Blizzard" in 2019, each release has seen Alexander grow from strength to strength with recognition and acclaim from notable music publications and gigs at various venues across the UK and the seven seas.
Priding himself on producing music that is inspired by first-hand experience, this seemingly lends a hand to the range of different styles and genres that make appearances throughout his releases. As an artist, music has always been therapeutic for Mountain; a way to exorcise his emotions and demons; to create something beautiful from something dark; as there are no shadows without light.

Streetlights
‘Streetlights’ is a pop-folk track, characterised by body percussive elements and rich guitar textures, that details Alexander’s lust for love despite apparent reservations and reluctance. It epitomises the extremities humans face when feelings run deep, prompting them to excuse their actions, when there is but silence at the other end. Inspired by his personal experience and originally a solemn, down-tempo acoustic number, Streetlights was finished in collaboration with producer Tomas Padron (From the Roots) and mastered by Grammy Award recipient Bill Hare (Pentatonix, Flying Pickets). During the production process, Mountain and Padron took inspiration from Maggie Rogers’ 2019 album, ‘Heard It In A Past Life’ and the ambience stylings of Bon Iver, resulting in the track’s finalised sound.more

We Fall Down
'We Fall Down' is an acoustic guitar track that tells the personal story of a rise before the fall through its power vocals, crisp harmonies and vivid imagery. Originally composed for piano, the piece was later rearranged as an acoustic guitar track, more reminiscent of Alexander’s musical styles. Lyrically, the song flits between painting the artist's unconventional way of living by not meeting social norms, and also remarking on the fleeting nature of life.more
