Anna-Sophia

Kansas-born singer-songwriter Anna-Sophia moved to England after university to pursue the glamorous life of the starving artist. Her mother described her as a “vocal” baby who screamed for three years until sleep deprivation drove her to channel Anna-Sophia’s voice into singing ABBA tunes. Despite a nasty case of laryngitis, she made her online debut at age nine with a heartfelt (if scratchy) rendition of the American classic, Shenandoah, which can be found on her YouTube channel.
Though known primarily as a vocalist, Anna-Sophia also plays the piano and guitar to accompany herself at various bars, cafes, and weddings. As a type 4 Enneagram, she finds that she can best express this type’s strong emotion via the cathartic act of songwriting. Playing a wide musical spectrum from soulful ballads to percussive electro-pop, Anna-Sophia’s music attempts to marry a striking melody to thought-provoking lyrics without resorting to cliche. She thanks ABBA for the music.
