Born and based in San Juan, PR, Benny Marín studied to obtain his Music Performance and Music Education B.A, at the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory. He has collaborated in live shows, television productions and discographies under the baton of renowned musical directors and producers such as Jose Negroni, Quique Talavera and Jose (Iki) Muniz , among others, for a multitude of leading international singers of Latin Music including Wilkins, Basilio, La Lupe, and Lalo Rodriguez, among others. After debuting in the 2nd edition of the PR Heineken Jazz Fest as the leader of the group Shake Down Jazz, he became a core member of the House Band of the TV production "Marcano: El Show" on channel 2 of PR, NBC during several seasons. Afterwards, he went on the World Tour of Los Sabrosos del Merengue for 3 years from 1993 to 1996. On occasion of the 13th instalment of the Latin Grammy Awards the musical producer request his collaboration as interpreter of the official song, on the saxophone.
