Degenerate Era is an alternative metal duo based in Nashville, TN. Formed at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic they have dedicated nearly two years to developing their unique sound that can be heard on their latest single "Carentan" and “Manic”. Drawing inspiration from artists like TesseracT, Muse, and Deftones, their music incorporates dreamy soundscapes, angelic vocals, and blood pumping guitar riffs to take the listener on a sonic journey like no other. What started as a creative passion project between two friends has now turned into a full time band yearning to make their mark on the metal scene.

The lyrical content is about how your perspective or "vision" can be blurred by certain allegiances, whether that be political, religious, or even something simpler such as a relationship. The song is meant to be more radio friendly with the "I'm not taking it anymore" line being our hook. Instrumentals are inspired by earlier alternative rock/metal bands like Deftones.
