Fintan Scanlon is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter from Waterford in the south-east of Ireland. His musical education started at the age of 4 on violin and piano, while also participating in various choirs. By his teenage years, his interest had expanded to folk, rock, blues and indie music. He began to teach himself guitar which opened up a whole new world, branching into song writing and developing his ear by working out songs from the radio. He went on to complete a B.A and later an M.A. in Music, all the while balancing his love for classical and choral music with more modern genres. He is as comfortable as an orchestral player or a choral conductor as he is in a band and this melting pot of genres forms the basis of his music. As a live musician, Fintan has performed in many different settings and styles.
