I’m Keith “Hootie” Brown. I’ve been writing songs most of my life, pulling from country, blues-rock, R&B, and pop — not because I chase genres, but because I let the song decide what it wants to be.
I’ve played in bands, lost some brothers along the way, and carried more songs than I can count. Some got shelved, some found their moment, but I never stopped writing. Music’s how I make sense of things — the good, the bad, and everything that sticks with you after the lights go out.
I don’t write to sound perfect or fit a mold. I write what’s real. My songs come from lived experience — love, regret, heartbreak, resilience — and I don’t dress any of it up. If it hits you, then it did what it was meant to do.
I’m still here, still swinging, still singing. Still looking for peace, maybe love that lasts, and always the next honest song worth telling.
