Julia Wyszkowska, artistically known as jelia, is a 20-year-old singer and songwriter. After finishing college in Warsaw, she moved to London to study and pursue her career in music. By falling in love with jazz, RnB neosoul and indie pop, she formed an ambient but powerful singing style influenced by heroes of the Real Book (Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Nat King Cole), and the contemporary music (Adele, Jorja Smith, London Grammar, Lana Del Rey). In 2021, after the pandemic restrictions got abolished, jelia started off her music career by playing concerts with her band across London. Lyricism of the artist started of by writing poetry, thus she plays with meanings and the linguistic side of songs. Her intuitive songwriting is narrated by her rich tone and soothing voice. Jelia is not afraid of stepping out of the genre classification - she focuses on her own style so her music choices feel natural and unaffected.
