Over the course of my life, my mom has often said that "music is food.” Now my music on my first album, Dragonfly, is available to stream on Spotify (and other platforms). In some ways, the album is like a meal - full of different flavors and ingredients that synchronously and improbably come together to make something edible (and delicious). I wrote all eight of these songs over the course of the pandemic. Secluded and isolated from my normal habits of life, I engrained new grooves to tread as my daily routines. This included making a buffet of musical creativity like I never had had before. And so here I am with eight songs that are intricately entwined with my vulnerability. But putting these honest experiences into song form also gave me permission to let them go and move on to embrace new ones. I think the documented experiences, while unique to me, are not in-and-of-themselves unique. So let go, let the music wash over you, and give yourself permission to be free.
