Marcus began playing music in his sixth grade year when he picked up a trombone for band class for the first time. Used his band class to learn the basics of that instrument and the fundaments of music. Then at 13 he picked up a guitar that his older brother never played anymore and began learn a few chords. He tried his hand at Johnny Cash songs his grandfather played in his truck, songs from the Eagles that his father loved to listen to, Beatles songs his mother would turn up when they came on the classic hits radio station, the new alt, punk, and rock songs his older brother listened to, the Jimmy Buffett tunes his uncle would sing him, and even the pop country hits his big sister line danced to. And right away… he found it… quite difficult frankly. So he figured he’d practice for about say 10 more years while no one was looking til he booked his first gig at 23 years old and since then he’s dead set on working as a musician til his voice is gone and fingers don’t bend.
